By Spieker Promotions HARWOOD, N.D. (August 22, 2018) - The MSTS 360 schedule resumed last weekend with visits to Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. on Friday and Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, Neb. on Saturday. Lee Grosz scored a podium finish at Jackson followed by a top 10 run on Saturday. This weekend, Grosz will return to Jackson Motorplex on Friday before a stop at Park Jefferson Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D. on Saturday.
Grosz began the weekend with a convincing heat race win at Jackson. The Harwood, N.D. driver wheeled his way from fourth to pick up the win by over five seconds. In doing so, Grosz ran a lap of 12.798, which was just over a tenth of a second off the Jackson Motorplex 410 Sprint Car track record of 12.690, established on June 9 by Lynton Jeffrey. “I ran fourth for most of the feature after starting fifth,” explained Grosz. “There was a red with four or five laps to go. I ended up getting by Cody Ledger for third on the restart. The track was narrow and fast all night. That was the heaviest track I’ve been on in a long time. To move forward from fifth to third was a good night.” The following night, Grosz moved up one spot in his heat race at Park Jefferson Speedway to finish fifth. During the feature, a lingering brake issue severely affected the handling of the Moyle powered J&J No. 4J. Grosz held on to come home in the 10th position. “We’ve been fighting the brakes since we put this car together,” said Grosz. “We finally just said enough is enough and put in all new parts to hopefully eliminate the problems.” Coming off a podium finish last week, Grosz is looking forward to returning to Jackson on Friday. “I think we get better each time we go to Jackson,” he said. “If we can get a little luck on our side, I think we have a good shot at winning a couple there. Hopefully we can get some good speed going into the Jackson Nationals in a couple weeks.” Catch Lee on MRN’s Winged Nation Saturday morning on MAVTV!
